Role of Imaging in Precision Medicine and Associated Production Challenges

Precision medicine is, at its core, the recognition that each of us is unique, and our healthcare treatment or therapy should be unique as well. Imaging is, of course, the ubiquitous workhorse technology that helps doctors and radiologists make a confident determination of a patient’s underlying condition.

From diagnosis to treatment plan creation to periodic follow-ups, imaging is the standard of care and is part of the decision-making process every step along the way.

In this talk, we will see the different ways in which applying computer vision techniques to Radiology images have helped advance patient screening, prognostic score prediction, treatment response prediction as well as disease recurrence prediction.

Jagadish will also explore some of the challenges that these algorithms need to overcome to be widely adopted and directly touch patients’ lives.
